The importance of detoxing your body

It must be done the correct way. Eating the right food, exercising and avoiding stress all play a very important role in optimal fitness and maintenance of good health, so all the above mentioned elements must be considered before you formulate a detoxification plan.

In today’s world, the levels of pollution are so high that the toxins and various other elements present in the air can raise your toxic levels and that can cause a number of physical as well as mental illnesses. If the consequences are serious then this could weaken your immune system and cause depression and fatigue. The diet required in a detoxification plan is not very complex and could be followed very easily. This diet may be repeated as many times as required to get the greatest health benefits.

There are particular types of foods that form a part of a detoxification diet. These foods provide a healthy, nutritious and a very well balanced diet. Fruits are the most important part of a detoxification plan. Eating plenty of fresh fruits is recommended when detoxing. You could eat any type of fruits like oranges, apples, bananas or maybe even exotic ones. Drink fruit juices that are 100% real and not those that contain added flavors, sugar and other artificial preservatives.

Vegetables are also very important in detoxing. One must eat a lot of vegetables like Brussels sprouts, onions, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, turnips, leeks, cabbage, corn, peppers, bean sprouts and mushrooms. Lentils and beans are also very essential for detoxing. Beans that are canned must be avoided as they contain a lot of oil but dry beans and beans that are canned in water are ideal. Lentils, kidney beans, black-eyed peas, pinto beans and lima beans are the most well known beans that are used for detoxing the body.

Meat substitutes like quorn are excellent for detoxing the body, oats are ideal and must be sprinkled over fruits and used in porridges - you could even eat oats with honey and fresh fruits. Fish forms a very important part of this diet too and some of the varieties that you could choose from are cod, trout, mackerel, monkfish and salmon. Live yogurt has a lot of important nutrients and bacteria that help in digestion in the detox process.

There are certain foods that should be avoided while detoxing. Chicken, red meat, turkey and other poultry must be avoided. Sausages and pate must not be eaten. Dairy products like cheese, milk, cream, butter, margarine and eggs must be avoided. Salted nuts, potato chips, sweets and chocolates, refined sugar, jellies, jams and beverages like coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcohol are considered bad while detoxing. Consumption of too much salt is also a bad idea. Readymade salad dressings bought from stores are also a no-no.

Following the right diet in the right proportions is very essential and is the best way to get rid of problems in your body related to pollution. The detoxing plan is not very complex and could be followed very easily. Most of all it can be followed whenever the need arises.
